I was first drawn to photography while living in the South. Usually snapping photos of rundown buildings, ghost towns, graffiti, local punk or indie bands. I continued to follow this passion by exploring everything to do with music, travel, and wildlife. I came to a realization that I had a deep desire to find the beauty in everything, everywhere I can in life.

Along the journey, I became more involved with conservation efforts through education and volunteering with Texas Master Naturalist and Wild Bird Rescue. Instead of chasing musical endeavors, I came to realize you can do the same with volunteering, non-profits, and understanding the environment. My time with local citizen science groups and years spent learning to appreciate the land by becoming a certified master naturalist, wildlife & conservation, and a brief bird handler. All this made me strive to understand and protect the unique ecosystems in my community in whatever small way. I began to utilize photography as a “tool” for things I was more passionate about and more substantial.

Today, I’ve found myself lucky to be back in my hometown in northwest Michigan. After having spent the majority of my young adult life in the south and southwest,( and rediscovery of passions through literal walking through the desert). I’m feeling extremely grateful to be back somewhere with such beautiful rivers, lakes, wildlife, farmers’ markets, local music, and people.

I will be using this as a platform for freelance work for ( band promotional shots, Studio Portraits, Events, Non-profits, Videography). Most importantly, capturing the heart in it all. I hope this will be a platform for expanding and showcasing my work as a photographer and artist (wherever this path leads me), as well as a way to collaborate and reflect on what the real Michigan is to everyone.
